Kumihimo is the art of Japanese braiding. Each piece of kumihimo jewelry is designed and created with 6 to 8 strands of threads, fibers or beads. Each hand made Kumihimo bracelet or Kumihimo necklace is created by braiding with beads or crystal to make unique pieces of jewelry. Each hand made kumihimo bracelet has about 350 beads or crystals and each kumihimo necklace has about 800 beads or crystals. The process of designing a Kumihimo creation starts with adding 300 to 800 beads to your fibers or thread. Using a round disc the beads and threads are braided in a specific patterns.
